I recently received the 4.0 Intel pre-release, and have noticed a number
of really annoying bugs.  I can't recall if these have been mentioned
before, so please forgive me if they have.

1)  After accessing a particular directory for the first time, LW then
"forgets" where it is.  For example, when I first start the program and
load a scene, it properly goes to the C:\NEWTEK\SCENES directory.  Every
time after this, though, it only goes to the C:\NEWTEK directory, and I
have to manually select the SCENES directory.  It does this for every
directory:  Scenes, Objects, Surfaces, etc...

2)  Speaking of surfaces, this has its own additional bug.  In the file
requester that comes up when you load a surface, the File Type selector
(lower left corner) only has two options:  Objects, and All Files....and
annoyingly, it defaults to Objects.  ???????  I have to select All Files
since Objects is looking for LWO extensions, and surfaces have SRF.

3)  I'm currently running LW under Windows for Workgroups 3.11, and have
to use the Win32s thingie (NT *is* on the way, but I still wanna ask
this).  I get so many Win32 "Unhandled exception" errors that crash the
program that I almost don't want to use it until NT arrives.  The errors
can happen anywhere, at any time.  I can sometimes go for a good half-hour
of using Layout before it'll crash, and other times it'll get an error
within minutes...and a few times, only *seconds*...after starting the
program.  WHAT GIVES??  Does anyone else have erratic Win32 crashing
problems like this?  How can this be solved?  (BTW...Modeler has only
crashed ONCE in all the times I've used it...and oddly enough, it was when
I quit the program!)

4)  A slightly trivial question:  Do screen savers affect LW's
performance?  What about the plain black-screen saver?  Oddly enough, one
of the Win32 crashes I had not too long ago was right as I came out of a
screen-save...

My system consists of a 100Mhz 486-DX4 with 40 megs of RAM.
